Craig Corliss

Catching Instructor

Craig Corliss brings a wealth of high-level catching experience to our staff, having competed at the collegiate, summer league, and professional levels. A graduate of Worcester Academy, where he earned All-New England honors, Craig went on to play Division I baseball at Siena College before finishing his collegiate career as an All-Conference catcher at UMass Boston, posting a .333 average in 2023. His playing résumé includes stops with the Elmira Pioneers, where he was named Perfect Game Backstop of the Year in 2018, as well as the Traverse City Pit Spitters, New Britain Bees, Bristol Blues, Trenton Thunder, Idaho Falls Chukars, and most recently the Joliet Slammers and Windy City ThunderBolts of the Frontier League. Known for his defensive skillset—ranking among the top 30 Division I catchers in 2019 for throwing out base stealers—Craig now applies his extensive knowledge and experience as a catching instructor, helping players develop both their defensive and offensive game.

Coaching Philosophy

Craig’s coaching philosophy is built around developing the complete athlete, not just the catcher behind the plate. He emphasizes leadership, accountability, and game awareness, teaching players to understand the rhythm and flow of baseball while preparing them to handle high-pressure situations with confidence. His approach goes beyond mechanics, focusing on building athletes who can think strategically, communicate effectively, and lead their teams both on and off the field. By combining technical instruction with a strong emphasis on personal growth, Craig works to shape well-rounded players who are prepared to succeed at the next level.
